1. Service Description

DeskReview.ai provides manuscript-readiness analysis tools that match reporting guidelines, run checklist-based checks, and generate feedback linked to uploaded PDF manuscripts.

2. Ownership of Uploaded Content

You retain full copyright and all intellectual property rights in any manuscript, figure, table, or other content you upload to DeskReview.ai.

Uploading a manuscript does not transfer ownership to DeskReview.ai.

3. Limited License to Process Content

By uploading content, you grant DeskReview.ai a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to process the submitted material solely for the purpose of generating the requested manuscript analysis and feedback report.

  • Matching the manuscript to relevant reporting guidelines
  • Locating and quoting passages from the manuscript
  • Generating checklist-based assessments and summaries linked to the uploaded PDF

4. No Reuse by DeskReview.ai; Third-Party Model Provider Terms

  • Uploaded manuscripts are not reused for other users’ analyses by DeskReview.ai.
  • Uploaded manuscripts are not published, shared, or redistributed by DeskReview.ai.
  • If you connect DeskReview.ai to a Google Gemini account on Google’s free tier, prompts, uploaded manuscript content, and related outputs sent to Google may be used by Google to improve its products, in accordance with Google’s own terms and policies.
  • If you use a paid Gemini plan, Google states that submitted content is not used to improve its products.
  • By connecting your own Google Gemini account, you acknowledge that third-party provider terms and data practices may apply to content processed through that account.
  • You should not use a free-tier Gemini account for confidential, unpublished, or sensitive manuscript content unless you have assessed and accepted that risk.

5. Reports and Software

DeskReview.ai retains rights in the software, interface, checklist structure, and generated report formatting.

You may use, copy, and share generated reports for your own scholarly, editorial, and review purposes, including with co-authors, editors, reviewers, and journals.

6. No Guarantee of Acceptance or Completeness

DeskReview.ai provides informational support only. It does not constitute peer review, editorial advice, or a guarantee of publication success, completeness, or compliance with every applicable journal requirement.

Authors, reviewers, and editors remain fully responsible for interpretation and final decisions.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use DeskReview.ai in a way that is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, or interferes with the operation of the service.

8. Third-Party Services

DeskReview.ai relies on third-party services, including model providers and payment providers. Availability and performance may depend in part on those services.

9. Availability and Changes

The service may be updated, changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Features, pricing, and supported workflows may change over time.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

DeskReview.ai is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, DeskReview.ai disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, DeskReview.ai will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to use of the service.
